Adopt a tree!

You can adopt one or more trees belonging to one of three species: Oreopanax caricaefolium, Myrsine guianensis or Hieronyma colombiana. They are all equally valuable - the cost of taking symbolic care of each individual is PLN 100 (= USD 27).

Oreopanax caricaefolium („mano de oso”). The genus Oreopanax is native to the Americas and it comprises ca. 90 species of shrubs and trees. The leaves of these plants are commonly variously lobed or divided. Their inflorescences are large, composed of the numerous, small flowers.

Myrsine guianensis („cucharo”). This small tree is found in Latin America usually it grows up to 7-8 m, but larger individuals reaching 20 m were also reported. The leaves of this species are entire (undivided). The flowers are white, inconspicuous. This species produces green or brown berries.

Hieronyma colombiana („motilón”). Hieronyma species are distributed from Mexico to Bolivia. Specimens can reach over 50 m in height. These plants have found medical applications. Their seeds are used to control intestinal parasites and the bark decoction relieves cough.
